Catena Media appoints Pierre Cadena as VP of Corporate Strategy

Catena Media has named Pierre Cadena as its Vice President of Corporate Strategy, a role in which he will shape the company’s strategic vision and support its implementation.

Cadena is set to join the Catena Media team next week and he will be stationed in the United States, his current place of residence.

Previously worked for Fox Entertainment

With a track record spanning over two decades, Pierre Cadena has been instrumental in driving the growth of consumer technology and media enterprises. He arrives at Catena Media after holding the position of Senior Vice President and Head of Revenue & Strategy at Fox Entertainment, where he oversaw the news and entertainment brand TMZ.

During his tenure at Fox Entertainment, Pierre formulated the vision and strategic direction for TMZ, covering all its digital, television, original content, and experiential ventures. Additionally, he brings valuable experience in online sports betting and gaming affiliation as a non-executive director of Raketech.

Prior to his role at Fox Entertainment, Pierre held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Crunchyroll. His career includes senior roles in strategy and corporate development at notable companies such as WarnerMedia, Otter Media, and Caesars Entertainment. Earlier in his professional journey, he was engaged in investment banking and private equity investment activities.

Pierre Cadena graduated from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and holds an MBA degree.

Michael Daly, the CEO of Catena Media, expressed his enthusiasm about Pierre’s addition to the team, highlighting his extensive experience in strategic planning and driving growth for digital media and gaming firms. Pierre’s role is expected to play a significant part in Catena Media’s ongoing development in North America and other regions.

At Catena Media recently

Catena Media earlier this month celebrated a promising start with player sign-ups in Kentucky following the state’s launch of legal online sports betting.

This market entry coincided with a bustling early-season NFL sports schedule and witnessed substantial player engagement due to extensive pre-launch marketing campaigns and tailored offers presented by Kentucky’s licensed operators.

The launch was propelled by Catena Media’s national brands, including LegalSportsReport.com, GamingToday.com, TheLines.com, and Lineups.com. The company’s media partnership with The Sporting News also contributed significantly to the influx of player registrations.

Ryan Harper, Vice President for North America at Catena Media, expressed satisfaction, saying, “We are delighted with the successful commencement of legal sports betting in Kentucky. Player registrations on our platforms met our expectations, and we foresee further growth as more individuals recognize the advantages of secure and regulated online sports betting.”

Although Kentucky has a relatively modest population, with around 3.5 million adults, this expansion brings Catena Media’s reach to over 27 U.S. states and Canadian provinces.
