Keep America Flying: Las Vegas CEO offers 1,700 flights

Hotel and casino properties in the Las Vegas area are offering rock-bottom rates starting as low as $30 per night

Derek Stevens, CEO of?The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel and Casino said?that?he will be giving away 1,700 free flights to Las Vegas from 20 U.S. cities under a “Keep America Flying” promotion.?

The promotion is a way to help stimulate the Las Vegas economy as companies are slowly starting to reopen after the?COVID-19?crisis. It was initially a 1,000-flight give-away but a further 700 flights were added after they were snapped up in less than two hours.?

Derek Stevens on Twitter.

“Obviously, my team and I would like you to stay at one of our hotels, but if you don’t, that’s alright, too. Because Las Vegas needs you. Our community needs you. We’re just trying to do our share,?Keep America?Flying, keep Las Vegas rolling,” Stevens he said in a video uploaded on his Twitter.?

“We knew there was a high demand for Las Vegas, and to see these flights book as quickly as they did is overwhelming and?exciting, the Las Vegas CEO added after the first 1,000 tickets had been snapped up.

The offer is just the latest good news for travellers who love Las Vegas. Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak has announced that he will allow casinos to reopen on June 4.?A?few dozen Vegas hotels, including the?Sahara?and?Treasure Island, recently began accepting guests.?

On Wednesday, both MGM Resorts and Wynn Las Vegas?also?announced a June 4?re-opening for their Las Vegas properties.?Besides free flights, travellers can also look forward to?much cheaper Vegas vacations.?Hotel and casino properties are offering rock-bottom rates?starting as low as $30 per night.?

But there will be many changes in place as Las Vegas moves to?a?“New Normal”?

The?Nevada Gaming Control Board?has announced limits in casinos, from six players at craps tables to just three at blackjack tables. All chips, cards and dice will be regularly sanitized to help protect guests.?

Resorts will be encouraging physical distancing and will be installing thermal imaging cameras at entrances. Furthermore, guests will be provided with masks and strongly encouraged to wear them throughout their visit. Some groups?–?like MGM?–?will require employees to wear masks.
